This is just a notable piece of development that I've noticed, but there might be more. Sure, his emotions are not expressed fully, but you can tell that he cares. 2009 Ghost arguably has no character development whatsoever and he's practically just another grunt who happens to have a voice.
2009 Ghost was shallow, static character and the only reason (I guarantee you) that people thought he was cool was because of the mask and some one liners. My thoughts on this are that 2022 Ghost is a VASTLY superior version because he actually has character development.
